Privacy Policy

Last updated: 11 October 2026

This policy explains what information Bharat Education collects when you use this website, why we collect it, who sees it, how long we keep it and what you can ask us to do with it. We have written it in plain language. It is published in English.

1. Who we are

This website sells exam-focused study notes that students read online in a secure reader. It is run by:

Bharat Education

2. What we collect

  • Mobile number. You log in with a one-time password (OTP) sent by SMS. We keep your number as your account identity. The OTP itself is stored only in scrambled (hashed) form, expires in a few minutes and stops working after a few wrong tries.
  • Name and email. Optional. We use them on invoices and order emails, and to help you if you contact us.
  • Sign in with Google (optional). If you choose "Continue with Google", Google tells us your name, your email address and a Google identifier for your account, so we can recognise you next time. We do not receive your Google password and we do not read anything else in your Google account. You still verify your mobile number once.
  • Orders and payments. What you bought, the amount, any coupon used, your order and invoice numbers, and the payment reference given to us by Razorpay. Your card, UPI or bank details are entered on Razorpay's secure window and are never seen or stored by us.
  • Cart. The notes in your cart. If you are logged in it is saved to your account; if not, it stays in your browser session.
  • Device information. A device identifier and a short browser label (for example "Chrome on Android"). We use it to enforce the device limit that protects the notes.
  • Reading records. Each time a protected page is shown, we record which note and page, the time, your device, your IP address and your browser details. These records are kept for 90 days and are used to keep the reader secure and to investigate copying or sharing of the notes.
  • Messages. When you write to us (by email, WhatsApp, phone or the contact form) we use your message and contact details only to answer you. We also keep a record of the emails, WhatsApp or SMS messages we send you about your orders (sent, failed) so that we can retry them.
  • Technical data. Your IP address and error records, used for security and to fix problems.

3. Why we use your information

  • To create your account and let you log in.
  • To take payment, deliver your notes and keep your purchases in My Library.
  • To send order confirmations, access reminders and invoices.
  • To prevent misuse: limiting devices, showing your name or masked mobile number on the pages you read as a watermark, and investigating leaks.
  • To answer your questions and give support.
  • To follow the law, for example tax and accounting rules.

We use your information with your consent and to provide the service you asked for. We do not sell your information and we do not use it for advertising.

4. The watermark on your pages

Every page you read carries a watermark with your name, your mobile number (masked by default) and an order reference. This is how we discourage sharing of paid notes. By using the reader you agree to this.

5. Who we share it with

We share information only with the services that help us run the website, and only what they need:

  • Razorpay for payments.
  • Google, only if you choose to sign in with Google. Google's own privacy policy applies to that sign-in.
  • SMS, WhatsApp and email providers to send your OTP and order messages. They receive your mobile number or email address and the message.
  • Our hosting provider (Hostinger), which stores the website and its database.
  • Authorities, when the law requires it or to protect our rights and the rights of others.

6. Cookies

We use only the cookies the site needs to work: a session cookie that keeps you logged in and remembers your cart, a security cookie that protects forms, and a cookie that remembers your chosen language. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party analytics. To see how many people visit and which links bring them, we keep our own simple, anonymous visit counts: the page type viewed, whether the visit came from a link such as Instagram or Google, and whether a note was added to a cart. These counts hold no name, mobile number, email or IP address, are not linked to you, and are deleted after 400 days. They are not recorded if your browser sends a Do Not Track signal. If this changes, we will update this policy first.

7. How long we keep information

  • Account details: while your account is active.
  • Order, payment and invoice records: for as long as the law requires us to keep accounting records.
  • Reading records: 90 days, then deleted automatically.
  • OTP codes: a few minutes.
  • Contact messages: until your question is resolved and for a reasonable time after.

8. How we protect it

The website runs over HTTPS. Notes are kept in private storage and are never given to you as a PDF file; they are shown one watermarked page at a time, and only after we check your login, purchase and device. Passwords are not used for students; OTPs are hashed. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to keep your information safe and will tell affected users if a serious breach happens, as the law requires.

9. Your rights

You can ask us to:

  • tell you what information we hold about you;
  • correct information that is wrong or incomplete;
  • delete your information (we may have to keep order and payment records that the law requires);
  • stop using your information where you gave consent, which you can withdraw at any time. Withdrawing consent may mean we can no longer provide your account.

To use these rights, write to the Grievance Officer below. We will reply within 30 days. If you are not satisfied, you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India once it is operational.

10. Children

Many of our students are under 18. If you are under 18, please use this website with the knowledge and consent of a parent or guardian. If you are a parent and want your child's information removed, contact us.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. The date at the top shows when it last changed. If the change is important, we will tell you on the website.

12. Grievance Officer

For any complaint or privacy request, contact our Grievance Officer, Sagar Patil, using the details below. We acknowledge complaints within 48 hours and aim to resolve them within one month.
